Newman would like to acknowledge the inspiring efforts of aged care workers in maintaining the well-being of older Australians living in residential aged care facilities. We are very proud of our Human Services trainees, who continued to attend Workplacement despite experiencing significant challenges presented by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Hannah Reinke and Chloe Verdon (on a work day at Emmaus Nursing Home) are donned in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE protects the health care worker and reduces their risk of contracting the disease and also reduces the risk of the wearer from passing on the virus if they have it. PPE equipment should be utilised by medical professionals that are directly exposed to confirmed patients who have COVID-19.

Congratulations on your efforts as front-line health care workers. We hope the experiences gained during the pandemic provides worthwhile preparation for amazing careers in health care.
