Newman Senior Technical College continues to lead in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, with a strong tradition of student excellence at both State and National Training Awards. These prestigious events celebrate individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and growth through VET pathways.
This year, two outstanding Newman students – Hailee Frost and Felix Quaresmini – were named finalists in the highly competitive School-based Apprentice of the Year category at the North Coast & Mid North Coast Regional Training Awards, held in Byron Bay on June 20.
Hailee is currently completing an Electrotechnology Apprenticeship with Oxley HVACR – Industrial Refrigeration & Commercial HVAC, while Felix is undertaking a Hospitality (Cookery) Apprenticeship at the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club.
Both students represented the College with distinction and were truly deserving of their finalist recognition. We are proud to share that Hailee Frost was announced as the regional winner and will now progress to the NSW State Training Awards, to be held in Sydney later this year.
Congratulations to Hailee and Felix on their remarkable achievements. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated teachers, careers team, employers, and families who continue to support our students on their VET pathways.
