Wauchope Country Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Grounds Team as an Apprentice Sports Turf Management Trainee.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career in the turf industry while completing a nationally recognised qualification in Sports Turf Management. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain
hands-on experience maintaining one of the region’s premier sporting facilities.

About the Role
As an Apprentice Sports Turf Management Trainee, you will assist in the maintenance and presentation of our 18-
hole golf course, two bowling greens and surrounding grounds. You will learn all aspects of turf management while
working in a supportive team environment.

Duties will include:
 Mowing greens, fairways and surrounds
 Course set-up and presentation
 Irrigation system maintenance and operation
 Turf renovation and improvement programs
 Machinery operation and maintenance
 Pest, weed and disease management
 General grounds and landscape maintenance
 Assisting with tournament and event preparation

About You
The successful applicant will:
 Have a genuine interest in turf management / horticulture industry
 Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
 Be physically fit and capable of undertaking manual work
 Be reliable, motivated and willing to learn
 Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
 Work well both independently and as part of a team
 Hold a current driver’s licence or be working towards obtaining one (preferred)
