Kazac Civil are a leading owned and operated civil construction company on the Mid North Coast specialising in subdivisions and road reconstruction.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

As a Labourer you are responsible for completing general duties associated with civil construction projects, and follow direction provided by Site Foreman for the timely and efficient completion of all projects.

As a Pipe Layer you are responsible for joining and aligning pipes at the correct levels, angles and grades in accordance with the engineering drawings.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Follow direction provided by Site Foreman

Projects/jobs completed as per direction provided by the Site Foreman and Project Manager in productive and timely manner

For the Job - Labourer

Complete all labouring duties and tasks associated with civil construction project completion:

Unload, carry and stack building materials and place tools and equipment in position

Dig trenches for footings and services using hand tools and jackhammers if necessary to break up rock and concrete

Place and compact filling and quarry materials

Help to erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and barricades

Mix, pour and spread concrete

Apply construction techniques for laying and joining to pipe and drainage structures

Use wheelbarrows to remove rubble and rubbish from building sites

Complete set up for work assignments including ensuring tools and equipment are prepared for work and in good order and repair

Maintain a clean and organised work site

For the Job - Pipe Layer

Working from plans and specifications

Laying pipes; placing pits

Using small plant and hand tools including laser leveling devices

Construction of concrete structures and access points

Any other reasonable duties as required for sustainability of employment, such as general worksite maintenance, other tasks as directed by Project Manager or Site Foreman

Work Health Safety Legislation and Compliance

Adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements including wearing and directing others to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required

Understanding and diligent adherence to safe work practices

Completion of Work Method Statements (SWMS), and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in your area of expertise for onsite work/projects and pre-work risk assessment reports

Participate in onsite inductions as required by worksite

Attend and participate positively in on site toolbox meetings

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in Civil Construction
  • Pipe layers - experience preferred
