About the Opportunity

Working on projects and tasks that matter to our community, your apprenticeship will include working on:
- Electrical Infrastructure Construction Projects
- Three Phase Motors and Control Switchboard Installations
- Industrial wiring systems for Water and Sewer Processing Plants
- Maintenance of High Voltage Water Supply Pumping Stations
- Community infrastructure, Airport, Sporting fields, Events centres, Pools, Buildings and Emergency services
- Installing electrical equipment to a high standard and quality
This is a full-time role for up to 4 years working primarily in the Water, Wastewater and Construction areas of Council, working with diversely skilled Electrical Tradespeople and other trained professions to install, maintain and repair all facets of Electrical equipment. You will also have exposure and gain experience in the Telemetry Services section which will diversify your experience in instrumentation, communication networks, PLC's and SCADA systems.
Delivery of the Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician course will take place at Port Macquarie TAFE.

- Genuinely interested in up keeping grounds and plants
- Eager to learn and ask questions and self-motivated
- Great team members with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Focused on working safely, both for yourself and others.
- Able to commit to study requirements and completion of all training in a timely and organised manner.
- Hold a current Drivers License (Red P's or more)
- Able to comply with uniform and PPE requirements ? even at TAFE.

Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type: Full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Weekly starting salary $651 to $808 (depending on your highest year of schooling completed and number years since you finished school).
Allowances: Adverse working conditions 1 / Sewer Choke Allowance / Tool Allowance
You must be an Australian/NZ citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident; no visa or work permit support can be provided for this role.
