We’re looking for two (2) driven individuals with a positive attitude and a keen interest in the horticulture field to join our multi-award-winning organisation as an apprentice, working within our Civic Services Team.

Required skills & experience 

To be successful in these positions you will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, willingness to learn and the commitment to complete a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Landscape Construction or Parks and Gardens). You will also have a strong commitment to safety and upholding of Council’s organisational values of Passion, Integrity, Innovation, Communication, Respect and Collaboration.

Key accountabilities include

  • Undertake and complete a Certificate III in Landscape Construction or Parks and Gardens within the duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Exhibit a high-quality work ethic and integrity, together with a willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of work tasks.
  • Perform general horticultural duties including mowing, whipper snipping, and edging of turned areas, tree planting, pruning and maintenance, line marking of playing fields, construction of minor landscaping works, litter collection, general maintenance of garden beds and mulching
  • Maintenance of general playgrounds
